Buy-to-let mortgages for overseas investors
Can I get a UK buy-to-let mortgage if I live in the Gulf?
Yes. Specialist expat and international lenders lend to buy-to-let investors living in the GCC, usually with deposits of 25–40%, through FCA-authorised brokers.
What is the rental cover test?
Lenders check that the expected rent covers the mortgage interest by a margin, often 125% and sometimes 145%, using a stress rate. It can limit how much you can borrow.
